Hiring: Childcare Provider

Reports to: Lifespan Religious Education Director
Status: Part time
Hours & Compensation: Part-time 2 hours/week, Sundays (with occasional optional extra hours) | $16-18/hour

Childcare Provider: 2 hours/week at $16-18/hour

Summary: The Childcare Provider at First Church is an important part of our Religious Education team, providing care for the youngest members of our community. The Childcare Provider supervises children age 5 and under in our nursery during the church service on Sunday mornings, engaging the children in activities and play. The nursery space is a preschool during the week and provides areas for crafts, pretend play, building, and reading books.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide childcare for children five and under during the church service on Sunday mornings

• Set-up and clean-up of the nursery space

• Provide “active” care, engaging the children in play and activities

• Assist teachers in one of our classrooms if no children attend childcare

The Ideal Candidate Will:

• Be at least 18 years old

• Have experience in childcare

• Have experience caring for infants and toddlers

• Have experience with or an interest in learning about neurodiversity, anti-racism, and LGBT+ inclusivity in an educational setting
